\"A coffee fruit usually contains two beans fused together, thus giving them the flat side. Sometimes, due to a rare genetic mutation a single bean forms inside the coffee fruit. With no competing bean to flatten it, it develops into a round pea-shaped seed, hence the name Peaberry. As the bean develops alone in the coffee fruit it derives higher nutrients and sugar content as well resulting in an extremely flavourful and sweet tasting coffee. Peaberry coffee is also easier to roast evenly due to its round shape and they usually deliver a lighter, sweeter cup of coffee. Both Arabica and Robusta coffee species produce Peaberry beans and they are processed by both wet or dry processing. Our exceptional Special Peaberry Blend is derived from the best coffee growing tracks of Karnataka. It was the very first blend we sold in our Mylapore store in 1971 and is still the most sought after. Special Peaberry is ideal for coffee purists who like to brew in a traditional South Indian coffee filter. Having said that, the blend goes great with any other brewing method as well. This light-bodied coffee is highly flavourful and aromatic. \"
